Skills include a strong personality with good soccer knowledge both in theory and the ability to demonstrate the skills required to teach the team. The coach should be enthusiastic, patient, positive, but demanding.

Development of individual skills – individual and small group tactics:
-The pace of development in game speed at this time is due to cardio, physical and athletic development.
The demands of technical skills training as well as cardio should be maintained
-Awareness of player’s responsibility within the game becomes an important facet of the learning process.
-Players start to get a lot more confident and need to use their touches of the ball in practices and games as they work and develop more technical touches with the ball daily
Learning and practicing new touches with the ball but have a strong desire to try new skills.

Technique:
Build on the base of getting comfortable with the ball; always keeping their head up while handling the ball.
Emphasize the development of individual ball handling skills at game speed
-Continue to increase technical touches and encourage players to use it in games

Dribbling:
Encourage the player to keep their heads up and teach moves on how to keep possession of the ball and how to shield and protect the ball by carrying the ball on the opposite side of the opponent

Receiving:
-Emphasize a quality first touch both on the ground and in the air. Aerial ball control is emphasized
-Have players receive ball on all surfaces and work on turning. Players should use all surfaces and learn to receive the ball on the run.

Movement off the ball:
-Emphasis will be made in order to keep ball possession as a team. Must know where the opponents are at all time.

Shooting:
-Continue to work on shooting the ball with power and accuracy, on the run and with a dead ball using proper techniques. and their laces

Set Plays:
-Free Kicks from all areas around the goal
Corner kick – long & short.
Penalty kick.

Passing:
-Continue to work on short, long and crossed passes using all surfaces. All should continue to learn with proper techniques.

Tackling:
-Emphasize on jockeying and when to tackle using proper techniques.

Tactics:
-Increase tactical speed (decision making under pressure)
Individual: Work on 2 v. 1, 3v2, in attack and defense.
-In attack: Teach players to keep possession when there is time and space in the proper areas of the field.
In defense: Teach how to apply proper pressure in 1v1 situation.
Small group: Start with 2 v. 1, 2 v 2, 3 v. 2, 3 v 3.

In attack:
-Teach to keep team possession, support, and combination play.
-Continue working on striking ball with proper techniques.
-Start to introduce more basic set plays.

In defense:
-Players will continue to work as a unit tactically to close down space and support each other 2v1 and team defending.
-Be a part of break out and attacking plays

Fitness and conditioning

Players will be introduce to cardio, fitness on an indoor track and core and agility training at a training center once a week with a 24 weeks program
